At Martin’s Quilt Shop near Nappanee, quilts and fabrics fill a shed that once housed carriages. Like many area handicrafts and woodworking shops, Martin’s is in the rural countryside. Besides traditional crafts, contemporary art - from painting to jewelry—flourishes in Amish Country. Browse Sycamore Fine Arts Gallery and watch a sculptor and crafters work at the Old Bag Factory in Goshen. This 35-mile tour begins in Nappanee at Borkholder Dutch Village, housing 300 arts and crafts vendors, then angles northeast to Shipshewana, home to numerous artisans.
