A Biography of the Bible with Greencroft Live and Learn
From that copy of the Gideon’s Bible in the nightstand of your hotel room, to the revered family Bible that graces the hearth, to the dog-eared and underlined study Bible on the desk, many assume that the current form and content of this familiar treasure has been stable and unchanging over the millennia. But not only does the Bible appear in many different modern versions and editions, it has undergone centuries of composition, compilation, translation, editing, canonization and production. This course will trace the story of our Bible, starting with the extensive variety of contemporary editions, to its ancient origins. From Word to words. From publication to inspiration. Paul Keim is professor of Bible, Religion and Philosophy at Goshen College and Adjunct Lecturer in Biblical Languages at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary.
