Arbor Day 2016

Come to the Elkhart Environmental Center (EEC) on Saturday, April 30th from 10:00AM – 2:00PM for the City of Elkhart’s 28th Arbor Day celebration!

You can take home a tree and a free tree planting kit complete with everything you need to give your new tree a healthy start (while supplies last)! There will also be demonstrations on how to properly plant and prune trees led by the city’s Forestry Division, practices that you can use with your own tree! The event will feature the ElkhartWood Showcase, with live demonstrations from local woodworkers and an exhibit of artistry and talent showing wood products made from reclaimed urban lumber. Learn about the ElkhartWood Program and how it has positively impacted our community and the urban environment. Join Mayor Neese as he delivers the annual Arbor Day Proclamation at 11:00AM.

Admission is free and there will be free trees and food while supplies last. Join the EEC, the City Forester, and Mayor Neese in declaring our commitment and dedication to a healthy, vibrant city forest.
