Arbor Day at the Elkhart Environmental Center

Join us for our 30th annual Arbor Day celebration on Saturday, April 28th from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM! The event is family-friendly, free, and open to the public.

Stop by our Adopt-A-Tree tent and pick up a free tree! 811 and NIPSCO arborists will be available to answer any questions, and will do a tree planting demonstration.

Guided tree hikes will be offered every hour on the half hour throughout the event at 10:30. 11:30, and 12:30. At 11:30 there will be a special scavenger hunt hike for the kids. There will also be coloring activities, games, puppets, and fun books in our Learning Loft for kids to play with!

At 12:00 PM our Spring Plant Exchange will start–bring your healthy potted plants and exchange them for different ones!

City departments, such as Aquatics, Engineering, and the EEC will also have booths at the event where you can learn more about the benefits of trees as well as what the departments do. Aquatics will have live fish from the river!

Hope to see you there!
