Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

Like no other group that’s performed at The Lerner, fans left the theatre not wanting the party to end. We listened, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is returning to Elkhart – this time for a swingin’ Christmas party.

The California-based group was the headliner for the 2015 Elkhart Jazz Fest. They’ve played a Super Bowl halftime show and are famed for bringing along the swing revival. Scotty Morris and Kurt Sodergren founded the group in the early 1990s, and they’ve produced nine studio albums, provided the theme song for TV’s “3rd Rock from the Sun,” and perform frequently on late-night shows and at Disney World.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s efforts to promote and revitalize swing music have taken shape as much more than a simple tribute. Taking inspiration from the creators of this uniquely American art form, the band’s original horn-infused music and legendary high-energy shows introduce the genre to new fans while respecting the music’s rich legacy.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is presented by Friends of The Lerner, our not-for-profit organization dedicated to expanding entertainment options at the theatre and throughout downtown Elkhart.
