Celebrate Youth – Where Dreams Are Born!

Join the Elkhart Symphony for its 68th season – CELEBRATE! Real People, Real Music at the Lerner under the direction of Brian Groner, guest conductor. As the ECSO celebrates the 30th Annual Student Concerto Competition, which it has sponsored for 30 years, we asked “where are some of our former winners“ and how did that quality experience impact their dreams for the future.

Our Soloists will be  the 2016 Concerto Competition Winner Lauren Weirich, senior violinist from Elkhart Central HS, She will perform Sarasate’s Zergunderweisen- Gypsy Aires. Maggie Yoder and Andrew Nowicki – violinists and former winners, now music students at IU Bloomington. They will be featured performing the Bach Double Violin Concerto with the orchestra and  Mary Jordan Norell, pianist, performing Listz Concerto in Eb. She is a former winner of the competition and now teaches at Goshen College and is head of the Community Music Program.
