Charlie Chaplin in “The Kid” at the Lerner

Charlie Chaplin “The Kid”  was written by Charlie Chaplin, produced and starred in, and is widely regarded as one of Hollywood’s great enduring masterpieces.  Edna Purviance, the leading lady plays a desperate unwed mother who leaves her baby in a limousine with a note pleading whoever finds him to take care of him.  She changes her mind, but the baby is gone and ends up in the tender care of Chaplin’s Tramp.
