Composting 101 Workshop

Have you been thinking about starting a compost pile but are not sure where to begin? Learn how at Wellfield Botanic Gardens’ Composting 101 Workshop on Saturday, March 12 from 9:00 AM to noon. During this 3 hour workshop participants help to build an entire compost pile, gaining hands-on experience on incorporating different materials into a compost pile, watering and turning the pile. Participants also receive information on materials for building a compost container and different methods of composting. The cost is $25 for non-members, $20 for members. Each participant receives some samples of compost, as well as a chance to win a compost bin to take home! Dress for the weather and working outside. Bring gloves. Registration required, space is limited. Composting is a great way to keep food and yard waste out of the landfill and provides the best fertilizer for your soil.
