Mail Order Bride at Essenhaus’ Heritage Hall

Experience a delightful and comic tale of caring, compassion and humor. Eli Whittier, a resident of England, was on his way to Pennsylvania in early 1920 to join the Quakers when his ship was swept into a storm landing him in Newfoundland, Canada. He has worked two years as a lumberjack, de facto preacher and schoolteacher for a comically gossipy townsfolk, all to save enough money to send for his fiancée. Unknown to him, his fiance’ has married another and sends in her place a mail-order bride. And that’s where the fun begins. Written by Daris Howard. The Mail-Order Bride is presented by special arrangement with Drama Source. Directed by Kevin Eyer.
