History:
Middlebury Walks for a Cure began in 2005 and was organized by Nean Smith, a lifelong Middlebury resident and breast cancer survivor. The walk has grown from 119 walkers to over 500 walkers and runners. Middlebury Walks for a Cure is a non-profit event. Proceeds benefit Goshen Center for Cancer Care and United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.

The Pink Ribbon Lady logo was created in 2006 by Nean's son, Shawn, to symbolize the spirit of all who support the mission of Middlebury Walks for a Cure. The Pink Ribbon Lady's triangular body represents the Faith, Hope & Courage of all the individuals we honor, survivors and supporters.

Our mission:
I walk in memory of those we've lost.
I walk in honor of those fighting.
I walk so our children will not have to.
