The Northern Indiana Artists, Envisioning a Future, Remembering a Past
Over eighty works representing a large contingency of the NIA’s overall membership has been selected by Curator Brian Byrn for this exhibit. Many of these artists have been producing professional works of art for decades in Michaina but several are younger artists at the beginning of their careers. A variety of approaches and styles are indicative of the ongoing dialogue of aesthetics in our region. Landscapes and figures are certainly a part of this exhibit but also a new breath of abstraction has been included. Chronologically, the works stretch back as far as five years. The exhibit does not attempt then to represent an historical overview of the group’s activities but rather a contemporary viewpoint.
The Midwest Museum of American Art is open Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM; Saturday and Sunday, 1:00 to 4:00 PM.
