“Think, Eat, Live Green” Spring Garden Show – North West Indiana
THINK, EAT, LIVE GREEN -La Porte County Master Gardeners Spring Garden Show- Saturday, March 19, 2016. The LaPorte County Master Gardeners have prepared a fantastic day with two keynote speakers, several breakout sessions throughout the day, a children’s series, vendors, demonstrations and door prizes.
This is an event for the entire family!
You can pick and choose from a variety of demonstrations and seminars. You can go to Pallet Gardening then go down the hall to learn about vertical farming. Learn how to prune or attend a class on Wetlands. Did you ever want to know more about the exciting world of Backyard Chickens? We’ll have speakers on Beekeeping, Growing Bonsai and more
There will be a variety of vendors featuring local and handcrafted items for sale. In addition, local vendors will be offering beverages, breakfast and lunch items for sale.
We encourage you to bring the whole family to this all day event.
It will be a day to Live, Think and Eat Green.
Dawn Pape, “The Lawn Chair Gardener” will present two talks: “Mason Meets a Mason Bee & Planting for Native Pollinators” and “Goodbye Ornamentals, Hello Functional Yards”
Steve Sass, President of the Northern Indiana Chapter of INPAWS, will be presenting: “Rethinking Your Landscape”.
Chef Brad Hindsley of Spire “Farm-to-Fork” Restaurant will provide inspiration and recipe ideas using fresh herbs.
All children under 12 years not only get in free, but can attend (with an adult) an entire series of classes just for them! Have they ever wanted to learn how to make a fairy (or dinosaur) garden? How much do they know about their backyard spiders? Do they know why native plants are so important?
