Heritage Trail

One of America's Most Scenic Drives

Heritage TrailCenturies of history, thriving communities and tranquil rural landscapes come to life along the 90-mile Heritage Trail. You easily can devote a day to this route, discovering the rich, diverse heritage that’s shaped Amish Country. You’ll explore where some 20,000 Amish make their homes, and how band instruments, Alka Seltzer, quilts, furniture, RVs and even pie have helped shape the region. Borrow a self-guiding Heritage Trail audio CD from the Elkhart County Visitors Center in Elkhart or other stops along the trail. Then, set out on what Life magazine called “One of America’s Most Scenic Drives.”
