From Amish culture to fine art, history and RVs, there’s a museum for almost everything and everyone in Amish Country. Elkhart’s lavish 1910 Ruthmere estate reflects a well-to-do lifestyle of long ago, while exhibits at the Menno-Hof center highlight Amish and Mennonite heritage and the simple Amish way of life. The theater repertoire also is varied. The Amish lifestyle inspired the lighthearted Broadway-style musical Plain & Fancy, the 20-year mainstay of The Round Barn Theatre at Amish Acres in Nappanee. The century-old Bristol Opera House hosts Elkhart Civic Theatre shows, ranging from classic dramas to musicals.
