This 90-mile loop takes you through a mix of Amish Country, hipster havens, and everything in between. Here's a great itinerary for a weekend trip:

Friday

Start your day at the Elkhart County Visitor Center to pick up a map and the the Heritage Trail.

Then head to Ruthmere Museum for a glimpse into Elkhart's Gilded Age past.

In the afternoon, take a stroll through Wellfield Botanic Gardens for some peace and quiet.

For dinner, check out The Vine or The Corner Bar in the historic Hotel Elkhart for delicious food in a charming urban setting.

 

 

Saturday

Start your day with a giant donut at Das Dutchman Essenhaus.

Next, hit up the Dutch Country Market for some Amish-made goods.

Then head to Shipshewana for lunch at the Blue Gate Restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit Menno-Hof to learn about Amish and Mennonite history and culture.

In the evening, check out Goshen's vibrant downtown dining scene, a melting pot of global and Midwestern flavors from Venturi and Maple Indian Cuisine to Goshen Brewing Company and South Side Soda Shop.

Sunday

Sunday starts off with a leisurely coffee at Golden Egg Pancake House, the Elkhart County winner in Indiana’s Cool North’s Breakfast Wars.

Keep the relaxed vibe going with a bike ride or nature walk. The Pumpkinvine Nature Trail gives you options to start in Goshen, Middlebury or Shipshewana.

Finish it all off with some amazing art at the Midwest Museum of American Art.
