9th Annual Authors and Artists Bazaar
On Sunday, March 13 the Elkhart County Historical Museum will hold its 9th annual Authors and Artists Bazaar. The bazaar will run from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and feature over 40 authors and artists from the Michiana area. It is a great opportunity to purchase art for yourself, a book for your nightstand, and a gift for your friends and family.
“There is a lot of really great talent in our area and this bazaar is a chance to showcase our neighbors’ skills,” says Curator of Education Rebecca Oestreich. The bazaar features all kinds of wares from paintings to pottery to purses. The featured authors have written children’s books, cookbooks, and nonfiction historical books. Visitors can also purchase willow baskets, homemade goat soap, Ukrainian eggs, stone sculptures, wood turned bowls, pet clothing and jewelry. People can even get their caricatures done at the event.
“We have some returning artists and authors who have been selling at our bazaar for years,” says Oestreich. “We also get new talent in every year which is really fun because there are always new discoveries.” With the weather slowly improving now is a great time to get out of the house. It’s also never too early to shop for gifts as Mother’s Day will be here before we know it.
The museum will be having special open hours for bazaar so visitors can check out the exhibits while they shop.
