Andrew Skipper Everyday at The Picture Show in Elkhart
People often ask me what they can do to spruce up their homes without spending a lot of money. My first answer is always to declutter and organize! We all have items that we use on a daily basis that have to be easily accessible, but they don’t have to contribute to clutter in our homes. By corralling these objects, we can take control over our clutter and feel the stress melt away.
With this in mind, I headed to The Picture Show in Elkhart to search for items that could keep the home organized and visually appealing at the same time.
As fate would have it, I immediately spotted two shelving units full of beautiful trays. I am constantly using decorative trays in my own home and in my clients’ homes to organize a multitude of objects. I keep a small tray by the back door to hold keys and sunglasses, that way I always know where these items are. I also keep a tray on the dresser to hold my wallet, chapstick, and loose change. The bathroom counter is also a great place to use a decorative tray to gather various bottles.
When things are gathered onto a tray, the eye registers one unit rather than 10 different objects. This is a great way to minimize clutter and maximize beauty and organization!
The next time you’re out shopping, look for unique trays that you can use in your home to decrease clutter and increase visual appeal. By making a small investment, you can make a big impact in your home!
