Andrew Skipper Visits Birds Gotta Fly in Elkhart, IN

Re-purposed vintage furniture is a hot trend right now, and Elkhart is seeing a few new stores that specialize in turning something old into something new and fresh! Just north of downtown at 916 N. Michigan Street, Birds Gotta Fly is a new vintage store offering a wide variety of furniture and decorative accessories.

Owner Pam Hoffer is also a stockist for Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan. This popular product is drawing customers from Chicago, Ohio, and Michigan because of it’s ease of use for the DIY enthusiast as well as the expert faux-finisher.

As if the creative merchandising and artful vignettes aren’t inspiration enough, Pam also offers workshops on different topics from painting to holiday decorating. Call ahead for reservations and make a day of it by heading to one of Elkhart’s local restaurants for lunch or dinner!

Whether you’re looking for that perfect piece for your home or searching for interesting ideas on how to re-purpose vintage items (there is a huge antique door hanging from the ceiling and being used as a dining table!), Birds Gotta Fly is sure to enchant you!
