Lights of Joy
The Shipshewana Flea Market, 345 S. Van Buren St., Shipshewana, features more than 2 million LED Christmas lights displayed in a mile-long symphony of various light scenes. Don’t miss Lights of Joy, before it ends December 29.
Christmas Tree lighting
Warm your heart at a community Christmas tree lighting celebration at these events:
– Elkhart’s Winterfest Celebration, December 7: It’s an all-day extravaganza of Christmas in downtown Elkhart starting with Breakfast with Santa, continuing with All Aboard with Santa at the National New York Central Railroad Museum, run in the Ugly Sweater Run, strap on some skates for free ice skating at the NIBCO Water and Ice Park, and top it off with the Winterfest Parade and tree-lighting in the evening.
– Goshen First Fridays: Hometown Holiday, December 6: Sing along with some Christmas carols, warm up at any of the gaily decorated shops downtown, and get in the Christmas spirit with the city’s annual tree-lighting ceremony.
– The town of Middlebury lights their community Christmas tree at 6 p.m. December 7 at Memorial Park downtown. It’ll definitely feel like Christmas with hot cocoa, cookies and Christmas carols.
