Pools and Splash Pads

Need a quick way to cool off? Here are local water attractions will help meet that goal in Amish Country for Elkhart and Goshen.

Elkhart

Pierre Moran Pool, 119 W. Wolf Ave., will be open till Aug. 14. Hours are 1 to 4:30 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through Sunday. Admission is $3 per person for the afternoon session and $2 per person for the evening session. Children ages 2 and under are $1 and spectators are $1.50. Use of the water slide carries an additional $1 fee.

Ideal Beach Water Park, 55256 Ideal Beach Road. Park hours are from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and Sunday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. Admission is $5 ($1 ages 2 and under).

The McNaughton Spray Park a It’s open 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $3 and children ages 2 and under are free.

Goshen

The pool at Shanklin Park Hours are from noon to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon to 7 on Saturday and Sunday. Children ages 3 through 17 are $2.50 for residents, $3.50 for non-residents; adults are $3.50 for residents and $4.50 for non-residents. Seniors 60 and older get in for $2.50 if residents, $3.50 if non-residents.

Anyone who swims during the weekday can get back in for the evening swim for $2.

The pool also uses a photo ID system. One ID ($2 for residents, $3 for non-residents) is good for three years.

There is splash pad at Walnut Park and Reith Park They’re usually up and running by noon. There’s no cost.
