Meet our new blogger, Mike.  Here is his first post.

Fall has always been my favorite time of the year. I have been fortunate to spend a good amount of my years close to or in the town of Bristol. And in my opinion there may be no better place to be this time of year. The trees lining Main Street and filling parks always seem to change their colors at the same time; as if they’re being painted for my own visual entertainment.

Just after Halloween while most places seem to be slowing down, Bristol seems to come alive. The parks, always kept so clean, draw morning walkers. With cooler mornings the diner on main street, Evan’s Sidewalk Café, attracts more breakfast patrons seeking that hot cup of coffee to help start their day.

Each year at about this time I make a point of visiting Bonneville Mill. There is a stillness in the air which helps me think and enjoy the colors, sights, sounds, and mood of autumn. Hiking through the park is always fun for a nature lover like me. Squirrels gather acorns, trees shed colorful leaves and geese fly overhead.  A person can’t help but to feel relaxed taking in all the autumn sights. Even the running water in the nearby creek which powers the mill seems to flow slower.

Once back in town I make a point of stopping at the Stone Soup Emporium. They’re a new business in town opening this past May. I’ve been there several times, and I like their displays and soda/ice cream shop. It seems like now would be a good time to enjoy one last ice cream cone or old fashion float before the weather grows too cold enjoy these treats. Then it’s time for hot chocolate!
