Your must-see guide to Christmas cheer in Elkhart County
Do you need a little Christmas right now? You’ll jingle all the way at these fun and festive activities open to the public (and light on the wallet).
Even if the snow isn’t glistening, be wowed by the beautiful sights at Wellfield Botanic Gardens’ Winter Wonderland holiday lights display. Hum along to live music while strolling their Promenade Path all aglow for the season on weekend evenings. Warm up with a hot chocolate before you leave.
Home for the holidays
The Ruthmere Museum and Havilah Beardsley House always shine at Christmas. Imagine yourself celebrating the holidays among Elkhart’s rich and famous with classic decorations and gilded luxury. This year only, Ruthmere also celebrates veterans who defend freedom with its “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” exhibit.
Oh! Christmas trees!
Decorations start and end with the Christmas tree, obviously. Communities along the Heritage Trail love Christmas. From Elkhart and Goshen to Nappanee and Middlebury, all have Christmas tree lighting festivities, including parades, scheduled for the first Saturday in December. Sounds like a holly jolly time to us!
