Elkhart County and for you locals we hope you enjoy watching some of the country's best paddlers compete in the weeks events.

The races are going to take place August 5-10, 2008. There will be sprints at Ideal Beach on Heaton Lake in Elkhart Tuesday and Thursday. Wednesday is the orienteering and biathlon races at Hermance Park in Bristol. Then Friday through Sunday are the marathon races beginning in Mottville, MI and ending in Bristol, IN. The biathlon is a great chance for anyone who can paddle 3K and run 3K to come out and compete.The marathon races on the other hand are only for the highly trained as they are going to include stretches of challenging up stream paddling and have a duration of at least 2 hours for the fastest paddlers.
